All the songs are killer! Jazz-oriented rare groove at its finest! A fantastic masterpiece that combines sound, visuals, rarity and all the elements in rare groove, brought back to life with the latest digital remastering from the original master tapes!
Recorded in 1972 with keyboardist and percussionist Bobby Hamilton, this album was released on a minor label in New York at the time, but its superb sound and rarity have made it a "rare masterpiece" among diggers. It's such a gem that it was even dubbed "the best of the best! It starts with "Pearl (Among The Swine)" (M1), which starts with a funky groove from the interplay between the electric piano and vibraphone, then moves into "Priscilla" (M2), which has a mellow groove with a soul bossa feel, and then moves into a percussive groove from the spiritual intro. The Afro-jazz funk of "In The Mouth Of The Beast" (M3), with its impressive bassline, gradually overlapping with electric piano, percussion, and horns, leads into a killer funk with a sense of speed, "Roll Your Own" (M4), and "Dream Queen" (M5), an exquisite slow ballad with an indescribable sadness created by the electric piano, vibraphone, and horns, all of which are killer tracks! The original master tapes have been newly digitized for this release. The reissue is the latest version, remastered to the latest specifications!
